And all day on July 30, they’ll be offering their cheesecake slices for half-price to dine-in customers. Click here to see the details. It’s in honor of National Cheesecake Day, so it’s a one-day deal.

Sandwich shop Schlotzsky’s wants you to try their new Cinnabon offerings. So on July 25, from 3 to 7 p.m., a FEW stores will be holding a “Sweet & Greet” event, where you can try a sample of their Cinnabon rolls and a free cup of coffee.
To find a Schlotsky’s location near you, visit www.schlotzskys.com and enter your ZIP code. Caveat: It does not look like many stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex are participating. I called two stores in Fort Worth (the one on Camp Bowie and the one on Bryant Irvin) and neither of them said that they are participating, because they do not serve Cinnabon products yet. Here’s a hint: When you search for a location near you on the website, look for stores with the cinnamon-roll icon – that means they serve Cinnabon and are more likely to be in on this deal. The only participating store that I found was in Granbury. So if you live down there, or you’re going to be there over the weekend, stop in at their location on 1100 Waters Edge Drive and get your freebie! They said they’ll be offering a full-size small coffee and half a cinnamon roll.
I also saw that the Cleburne location serves Cinnabon, but I do not know whether they are in on this event. Call 817-645-6677 if you want to find out.

It’s that time again – time to head to your local Lowe’s home improvement store and build a free wooden craft with your kid! This Saturday, July 25, Lowe’s stores will be holding one of its Build & Grow workshops from 10-11 a.m. The craft for this week is a wooden helicopter. To RSVP for the workshop, visit www.lowesbuildandgrow.com, enter your ZIP to find your local store, and let them know you’re coming. While you’re there, you can also sign up for their August 8 workshop, where you can build a wooden powerboat.
Ready to do some repair work on your skin? Estee Lauder counters across the United States will be giving away free 10-day supplies of its Advanced Night Repair on Thursday, July 23, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. only, as part of its “America’s Night to Repair” promotion.
There are many, many Estee Lauder counters in Fort Worth, but I called only a few to find out what the scoop is. The Estee Lauder counter in Dillards at Ridgmar Mall (phone 817-731-4711) says you need to call ahead and make an appointment to reserve your sample. The counter in Macy’s at Hulen Mall is participating as well, as is the Belk in Weatherford. There are also other Estee Lauder locations at Neiman Marcus in Ridgmar Mall, Dillards at Hulen, Dillards at the Parks Mall in Arlington, and so on … but you’ll need to call them to verify. To see all Estee Lauder stores, visit www.esteelauder.com/storelocator.
McAlister’s Deli, that purveyor of soups, sandwiches and salads, wants you to try their famous sweet tea. So much, in fact, that they’re giving it away tomorrow, July 23. Just stop into any McAlister’s and claim yours. Perfect refreshment for a hot day! They’ve been building up to this day for a while, with lots of funny ads on YouTube. You can watch them here. Become a fan of their sweet tea on Facebook here.
There is, unfortunately, no McAlister’s in Fort Worth, but you can find them in Arlington, Colleyville, Southlake, Weatherford, and North Richland Hills. Locate your nearest restaurant here.
I love Buffalo Wild Wings. My husband and I get a babysitter and go play their NTN Trivia game about once a month, but what I really love is their food – specifically, their Spicy Garlic wings.
Tomorrow, July 22, Buffalo Wild Wings is gearing up for football season by offering its wings for just 55 cents each. This offer applies to ANY flavor of their wings, and boneless wings as well as the traditional bone-in kind. It’s also good for takeout orders. If I remember correctly, an order of 6 regular wings is something like $4.99, so this is a pretty good deal (6 wings would be $3.30 at this price).
BWW also has their regular flavor, bone-in wings on special every Tuesday for 40 cents each.
To find a location near you, visit this link. If you’re a fan, join their Buffalo Circle e-club at this link. You’ll get e-mails about upcoming specials and even some coupons from time to time.
