Join the ‘Fishful Thinking’ Network and Get Rewarded

Category : family

fisthfulThinkingLogoPepperidge Farm, the maker of Goldfish crackers, is currently seeking moms of kids ages 4-12 to become ‘Fishful Thinking’ ambassadors – members of an online network to help generate fresh ideas about parenting and to promote the Goldfish brand. If you’re accepted, you can complete activities on the site and share news from Goldfish to earn points and enter into drawings for prizes. Members will also receive a welcome kit – not sure what is in it yet, but it’s sure to be something good!

I would have waited to post this when I got more details about the prizes and contents of the welcome kits, but space is limited to the first 1,000 moms to qualify this year, so time is of the essence. Go to to sign up. If you’re not already a member of RepNation, join and then follow the link again to get started. As I said before, you must have a child at home ages 4-12, and you must like sharing new ideas both online and in-person.

The Fishful Thinking site is pretty cool; it’s got lots of info on how to help your kids set goals, raise optimistic kids, and more. Click here to check it out.

$3 off Papa Murphy’s Pizza

pizzaI love Papa Murphy’s – they create your pizza right in front of you and put it in a nifty little box for you to take home and bake yourself. It’s better than frozen. But I never go there without a coupon. Right now, you can save $3 on a family-size pizza; click here to print the coupon. This offer expires on 9/30/09, you can use it for up to 3 pizzas, and the discount isn’t valid on dessert pizzas.

When you get your pizza, don’t forget to keep the little piece of paper they stick to the top of the box; it’s got a link to a customer service survey that you can take to get another coupon for next time.

Help Kids, Get Free Ice Cream at Cold Stone

Category : family, food, free

coldstonejacksJoin Cold Stone Creamery this week for “The World’s Largest Ice Cream Social.” If you show up at your local Cold Stone on Sept. 24 from 5 to 8 p.m., you’ll get a free 3-oz “Jack’s Creation” ice cream treat when you make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. As you know, the Make-A-Wish Foundation helps make the dreams of seriously ill kids come true.

So just what is in “Jack’s Creation”? It’s sweet cream-flavored ice cream, mixed with brownies and rainbow sprinkles, and topped with caramel. Sounds good to me!

In Fort Worth, Cold Stone can be found at 4601 W. Freeway Ste 206 and at 4811 Overton Ridge. For a list of other DFW area locations, click here. As always, call your intended location ahead of time to make sure they’re participating.

While you’re at the Cold Stone website, don’t forget to sign up for their Birthday Club. You’ll get a free ice cream on your special day just for joining.

curveslogoYou’ve heard of Curves, the “mini-gyms” for women that seem to be in almost every town these days – they provide a quick cardio and strength workout in just 30 minutes! Now, in honor of National Women’s Health and Fitness Day on Sept. 30, Curves is offering its 30-Day Diet Plan weight management classes absolutely FREE. 2.      Phase 3 Class (30 minutes) to teach the most important stage of the Curves Weight Management Plan and special techniques for ongoing weight maintenance.
3.      Special Topics Classes (30 minutes) to cover a different health-related topic each month, including Smart Grocery Shopping, Choosing the Right Carbohydrates, Eating Out, Emotional Eating and more.
According to the Curves website, “Participants are encouraged to make a weekly appointment to weigh in with their weight management coaches, who provide ongoing support and accountability.” Sounds a lot like Weight Watchers.

This promo starts Sept. 27 and runs through Oct. 18 at DFW-area Chipotle locations. No coupon is required.

Free Downy Wrinkle Releaser

Category : free

downyreleaseThanks to my friends on SlickDeals, I found this little gem: A coupon for a free travel-size sample of Downy’s new Wrinkle Releaser. Download the coupon here (PDF format).

If I were you, I’d go ahead and redeem this one as soon as possible. The fact that it was released in PDF form means that many people will be printing this one over and over, and I’m guessing Downy will tell retailers to stop honoring it before long. (I normally would not post PDF coupons, but this is straight from Downy’s site.) And it goes without saying that if you do print it out – be nice and limit yourself to one. I hear that both Target and Walmart are carrying this item.

FWotC’s Newest Giveaway: Win a Yoga Mat and Yogurt

Category : contest

Yoplait Gift Package PhotoIn my personal life, I’m currently working on two things: To lose the extra post-pregnancy flab around my belly and to improve my eating habits. That’s why I absolutely love this newest giveaway on Fort Worth on the Cheap.

Did you know that more than 70 percent of people are not getting enough calcium and Vitamin D in their diets? It’s true. But the good folks at Yoplait say that their yogurt is the only leading brand to contain calcium and Vitamin D in every serving. Plus, it tastes really good, and there are a ton of flavors to pick from. (I can honestly say that Yoplait is the only brand of yogurt we keep in our house. We’ve tried others, but my kids seem to like it best. They’re not a fan of fruit chunks in their yogurt, and the chocolate and strawberry Whips are their favorite.)

Yoplait has partnered with Nancy O’Dell, the host of the entertainment show Access Hollywood, to emphasize the importance of getting enough calcium and Vitamin D. And they want you to get involved. On Oct. 2- two weeks from now - two of my readers will each win a ”Get Strong and Healthy” gift bag. They contain three things: A coupon for one single serving of Yoplait yogurt, a yoga mat with carry bag, and an autographed copy of Nancy O’Dell’s new book, Full of Life. (The Yoplait coupon isn’t valid in Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Jersey, Nevada and Tennessee.)

I was sent one of the gift bags so I could “road-test” the prize before promoting it on here, and I have to say that they’re pretty nice. I go to the gym at least four times a week, and I use the mat during my group weightlifting class when I do push-ups – it doesn’t slide like the ones they have at the gym.

To enter, please leave a comment on this entry with your first name and your email address. You can earn up to two extra entries by posting a link to this post on Facebook and Twitter. (The direct URL is If you do this, please leave a separate comment each time with your name and email address and a link to the tweet and/or Facebook status update. Here are some quick rules for the giveaway: You must be a United States resident to enter. I’ll take entries until midnight on Oct. 2 and then draw the winners using a random number generator soon thereafter.

If you win, I’ll send an email to the address you provide asking for your mailing info. Please respond within 48 hours, or I’ll need to draw an alternate winner.

Thanks! Good luck to everyone! Oh, if you want to see Nancy O’Dell’s healthy lifestyle tips, you can check them out on Yoplait’s Facebook page at

This contest was sponsored by MyBlogSpark, who provided me with a sample gift bag and two more to give away. I have not been compensated in any other way for this post by MyBlogSpark.
