Today (April 20) is the second day of the Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival, the southwest’s largest four-day visual arts and entertainment festival that runs through Sunday. The event stretches nine blocks on Main Street from the Fort Worth Convention Center to the Tarrant County Courthouse. Enjoy live music, check out (and buy) the work of skilled artists, and enjoy food and beverages from 23 area restaurants. There’s plenty of stuff for the kids, too; check out “Main St. Creates!”, featuring face painting, a rock-climbing wall, Japanese letter-writing and more. (Note that some kids’ activities cost money.)
Admission to the festival is free, but food, beverages and certain activities will require coupons. You can purchase coupons online ahead of time, if you wish. Don’t bother bringing bottled water – to help support and raise awareness for water conservation, the TRWD is sponsoring free water stations around the festival. Simply bring your own water bottles and fill them up, or buy an aluminum water bottle at the festival for 9 coupons.
