Earth Day Activities at FW Science Museum

On Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History will hold several Earth Day activities in the lobby of the Omni IMAX Theater. These fun activities are included with IMAX movie admission; on Saturday and Sunday, you can see To the Arctic, a story about two polar bears struggling to cope with their changing environment. The Earth Day schedule of events is as follows:

Saturday, April 21

  • 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Solar cooking demonstrations
  • 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Make a UV bracelet, learn about polar bears, explore properties of liquid nitrogen, and conduct ice activities
  • 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. –  Experience “Arctic Nights” in the Mobile Noble Planetarium
  • 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Enjoy free mini Arctic ICY slushes
  • 11 a.m. – ? – Guess the exact time an ice block will melt revealing the thermometer inside and win a To The Arctic prize pack, including four tickets to To The Arctic, a copy of the To The Arctic companion book, a To The Arctic scarf, a plush polar bear, and two To The Arctic T-shirts.

Sunday, April 22

  • Noon – 3 p.m. – Solar cooking demonstrations
  • Noon – 4:30 p.m. – Make a UV bracelet, learn about polar bears, explore properties of liquid nitrogen, and conduct ice activities
  • 12:30 – 5 p.m. – Learn about composting from Fort Worth’s Master Composters
  • 1 – 3 p.m. – Discover the wealth of “green” products available through The Greener Good
  • 1 – 4:30 p.m. – Enjoy free mini Arctic ICY slushes

Tickets to To The Arctic are $7 for adults, $6 for children (2-12) and seniors (60+); Museum members receive a $3 discount. Buy online here.
