Underwater Dreams is an epic story of how the sons of undocumented Mexican immigrants learned how to build an underwater robot from Home Depot parts and defeat engineering powerhouse MIT in the process. The documentary was the basis for the theatrical film Spare Parts, which was released in January 2015 and stars George Lopez, Marissa Tomei and Jamie Lee Curtis. The film runs 86 minutes.

A discussion will follow the film. No reservations are necessary – seating begins on a first-come, first-served basis 15 minutes before the film begins.

Free Horror Remix Show in Arlington

Category : Arlington, entertainment, free

Come to Studio Movie Grill in Arlington tomorrow, Sept. 1, at 10 p.m. for Horror Remix, a montage of the best scenes from various horror movies. This is a free event. This month, the event is  titled “Baked.” Here’s what the organizers have to say about the show:

Horror Remix is always searching for the very best trash ever captured on film (or video). In search of inspiration for BAKED, we dumpster-dived in the alley behind the video store. And although we were neck-deep in the weird and wacky world of VHS horror, we only reached toward the wet and rusty bottom where forgotten cassettes were waiting to be rediscovered.

Horror Remix has combined these trash treasures into a quick-paced, mind-melting journey; an experiment sure to go horribly wrong.

Studio Movie Grill is at 225 Merchants Row in Arlington.
