Free Anti-Bullying Event

Category : family, Featured, free

Almost every school-age child knows someone who has been affected by bullying. On Thursday, May 3, Kids Who Care and Stand for the Silent, an anti-bullying organization, will hold a free community event on bullying at 7 p.m. at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Adults and kids alike will learn about the real-life consequences of bullying and will get tips on how to prevent it. Stand for the Silent was founded by Kirk and Laura Smalley, who lost their son Ty to suicide after prolonged bullying. This is a great event for empowering your kids and letting them know that abusive behavior does not have to be tolerated.

Admission to the event is free, but an RSVP is requested. You can RSVP by calling 817-737-5437 or emailing lori@kidswhocare.org.

The Fort Worth Community Arts Center is at 1300 Gendy St.

Free Kids’ Camp Preview at Community Arts Center

Category : entertainment, family, Featured, free, Uncategorized

What will you do with the kids this summer? Kids Who Care, a nonprofit kids’ theater company, is hosting a series of musical theater camps this summer. And on Friday, April 20, you can get a sneak preview of these camps at Campapalooza, a free family-oriented event designed to give parents and kids a taste of what the camps will be like. The camps are several weeks long, but performers will condense the “feel” of the camp into a 1.5-hour performance at the Scott Theater. The event opens at 5:15 p.m. with a meet and greet session, followed by a performance from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

See brochures about the various summer camps here.

The Scott Theater is at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St.
