Fall Activities at LEGOLAND

For a $1 donation to Merlin’s Magic Wand, visitors can build turkey, horse and cactus minifigures, plus they’ll get a special sheriff’s badge upon admission. Plus, there’s a costume contest: every Friday, the best-dressed cowboy and cowgirl will each receive a free fall-themed cookie cake.

Regular admission still applies for this special event. You can buy your tickets online to guarantee admission, or you can pay at LEGOLAND. If you go this route, you can bring 5 canned goods and get $5 off an individual admission. (This offer is only good in November.)

Family Saver Package at LEGOLAND

From now through May 24, you can buy a discount family package at LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Grapevine. For just $48 plus tax, you’ll get two adult and two children’s admissions, plus 4 activity packs and priority entry to the attraction. This would normally be about $73. To buy your package, visit their site. This is only good for admission through May 24.

Tuesday Discounts at LEGOLAND

Beginning tomorrow, Feb. 19, LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Grapevine will hold “Toddler Tuesdays.” You can come in on the third Tuesday of every month through Dec. 17 of this year and receive discounted admission from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pay just $14 for admission for 1 adult and 2 kids ages 3-4. Kids 2 and under get in free. Additional kids ages 3-12 are just $5 each. Advance tickets are normally $16.25 for adults and $11.25 for kids, so this is a great deal.

If your kids are school-age, there’s still a way to save – through Feb. 28, you can purchase a Valentine’s Family Saver package, which includes 2 adult and 2 child admissions, for just $40. These packages are only good for visits through Feb. 28. (The LEGOLAND website says their online ticket store is not currently working for this package, but they will honor it at the door.)

LEGOLAND and SEA LIFE Value Packages

If you’re planning on a trip to LEGOLAND or SEA LIFE Aquarium at Grapevine Mills Mall this month, be sure to check out their latest money saving offers. You can pick up an October Family Saver for LEGOLAND, which includes admission for two adults and two kids, as well as priority entry (no waiting in line!). This offer is good for visits through Oct. 31. The same $40 offer is also being advertised for SEA LIFE Aquarium.

If you are a frequent visitor to these attractions, you may also want to keep a look out for their upcoming Annual Pass offers. From Nov. 1-30, you’ll be able to get unlimited visits for a year to either LEGOLAND or SEA LIFE for $35 per person, or $100 for a family 4-pack of passes. These passes are currently $35 or $150, so it’s worth waiting until next month.

Join Legoland’s Junior Construction Panel

Do your kids adore LEGOs? If you think they’re one of LEGO’s biggest fans, have them apply for Legoland’s 2012 Junior Construction Panel. Kids ages 5 to 11 can fill out the application from now through March 4. On March 6, 50 applicants will be contacted and invited out to Grapevine Mills Mall to participate in a LEGOLAND Discovery Center build competition! The build competitions will take place on March 10 beginning at 10am. Competitions will be divided into two age groups, 5-8 years old and 9-11 years old. Six winners from each age group will receive an exclusive invitation to join the 2012 Junior Construction Panel team!

Legoland has not specified what perks Junior Construction Panel members will receive this year, but last year they received a year’s membership to LEGOLAND Discovery Center and some prizes.

Discounts on Legoland Admission

No question, tickets to the Legoland Discovery Center in Grapevine are pricey – but there are a few discounts to be had on admission prices. Here are a few ways to save:

  • Sign up for a free subscription to the LEGO Club magazine – this month’s issue has a coupon for a free child ticket with a paid adult admission. Hopefully there will be more coupons in future issues. (Thanks, Free Fun in Austin!)
  • Buy online – when you purchase advance tickets online, you’ll save 15 percent off the walk-up price. (Note that when you buy an online ticket, you’ll be asked to show up at a certain time, so plan accordingly.)
  • Buy evening tickets – Tickets good for admission after 5 p.m. are $12.50 each (adults and kids), which is also a great deal.
