Log Cabin Village’s Holidays at the Hearth

PhotobucketOn Saturday, Dec. 15, Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth will host a Holidays at the Hearth event from 1-4 p.m. Enjoy holiday music, string popcorn and cranberries, spin the dreidel, help make pomander balls, tamales, paper chains, embossed cards, ornaments, and more! You can even have your photo taken with an historic St. Nick ($5 fee for photo and folder).

Cost is regular Village admission ($4.50 for ages 4-17 and seniors; $5 for adults; 3 and under are free). There is also $2 craft fee if you want to make a punched tin ornament.

Wildflower Planting Event at Log Cabin Village

This Saturday and Sunday (April 14 and 15), Log Cabin Village will hold a Wildflower Seed Ball event from 1-4 p.m. Come learn about sowing wildflowers and seeds the way our native ancestors did! Then you can help toss the seed balls to plant the Village’s hillside for the spring and summer.

Cost is regular Village admission ($4 for kids ages 4-17 and 65 and over; $5 adults; kids 3 and under free).

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Log Cabin Village

On Saturday, March 17, Log Cabin Village will hold their annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Cap off your spring break by playing with old-time toys and games, listening to Celtic tunes from Buttermilk Junction Old Time String Band, plowing the field, and helping plant a sunflower fort and bean tipi. You can even make your own frontier toy to take home! Cost is regular Village admission ($4 for ages 4-17; under 3 free; adults $4.50) plus $2 craft fee to make the toy.

Unique Santa Photos at Log Cabin Village

Ready for Christmas pics? Do something different this year: On Saturday, Nov. 12, Log Cabin Village will give families the opportunity to snap photos with a “historic Santa Claus” from 1-4 p.m. The photo and frame are $5, but you’ll also need to pay regular Village admission ($4 for kids, $4.50 adults, free for 3 and under). Sounds like a neat opportunity for a unique picture.

On that same day, Log Cabin Village will also hold a candle-dipping workshop for kids. Cost for this event is $3, plus regular Village admission.
