Thursday, June 16, 6-8 p.m. – Free Duck Tape Wallet Make-It Take-It Event. Kids can make a free wallet from Duck Tape. For ages 3 and up.

Friday, June 17, 6-8 p.m. – Free Father’s Day Card Make-It Take-It Event. Create a thoughtful card for Father’s Day. Ages 3 and up.

Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m. to noon – Free Father’s Day Key Chain Make-It Take-It Event. Create a handmade keepsake for Father’s Day. Ages 3 and up.

Free & Cheap Christmas Craft Events at Michaels, Bass Pro Shops, Lowes

This week and this weekend, kids can come by Michaels craft stores, Lowes home improvement stores, and the “Santa’s Wonderland” at Bass Pro Shops to make free or cheap Christmas crafts. Here’s the schedule:

Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 17 and 18: Kids can make a free mitten ornament from 5-8 p.m. at Bass Pro Shops. First 100 kids to visit from 5-7 p.m. get free Santa Bandz (like Silly Bandz). Free photos with Santa, too. See the whole schedule of Bass Pro Shops events here.

Saturday, Nov. 20 – same activities at Bass Pro Shops as on Wednesday and Thursday, but hours are noon to 5 p.m. for crafts and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for photos. (No Santa Bandz).

Saturday, Nov. 20 - Michaels has The Knack Great Family Stocking Make-It Take-It event from 10 a.m. to noon. Decorate and personalize a Christmas stocking. Purchase of stocking required.

Saturday, Nov. 20 – kids can make a free wooden snowman at Lowes. Visit the Lowes Build and Grow site to find a store and reserve a spot.

Make Free Crafts at Michael’s on Sunday

Stop by your local Michael’s craft store from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24 for three free crafting events. These events, which are intended for adults, will allow you to make three different craft items absolutely free. Here’s the schedule for the events:

  • 1-2 p.m.: Make a Crystazzi crystal and pearl ring
  • 2-3 p.m.: Make a Halcraft Sea Breeze Necklace
  • 3-4 p.m.: Make a Hirschberg ribbon bookmark

When all is said and done you could walk away with three very nice things for yourself, or for stocking stuffers this holiday. As always, supplies are limited, so show up promptly.

Free Craft Events for Kids at Lowes & Michaels

Bring the kids out tomorrow, Oct. 23, for a variety of craft events at retail stores around Fort Worth. Here’s what’s going on:

Flapping Bat Craft - come to your local Lowe’s at 10 a.m. on Saturday to make a free wooden flapping bat. Visit the Lowe’s Build and Grow website to RSVP. Several Lowes stores still have spots open, including Keller, Burleson, White Settlement, and Weatherford.

Boo-Tiful T-Shirt Make-It Take-It: from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Michael’s craft stores, kids age 3 and up can use Tulip paints to decorate t-shirts for Halloween. Requires the purchase of a t-shirt.

Halloween Glow Explosion Make-It Take It: From 2-4 p.m. at Michaels craft stores, kids can use Crayola Glow Explosion to make “creepy eyes.” No purchase is necessary for this one. This event repeats on Monday, Oct. 25, from 6-8 p.m.

Free Craft Events for Kids at Lowes, Michaels, Log Cabin Village

Wow! Saturday, Sept. 25, promises to be a busy day for crafty kids. There are THREE free events going on at various stores. Here’s the rundown:

Michaels – visit your nearest Michael’s craft store from10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a free American Girl doll event. You can make doll crafts and other items for a “doll party.” Ages 8 and up are welcome.

Lowes – Kids can make a fire truck at participating Lowe’s stores from 10-11 a.m. Sign up ahead of time to ensure a spot.

Log Cabin Village – come to the Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth (2100 Log Cabin Village Ln) from noon to 4 p.m. for Harvest Homecoming, which includes kids’ crafts, live music and activities for the whole family. This is a free event. From 1-4 p.m. you can enjoy tunes from the Buttermilk Junction Old Time String Band.
