Fit15 Street Walk with Mayor Price

photo fitworth_zpsaed13260.pngStep away from your desk at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 17 and come down to Trinity Park for a 15-minute walk with Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price. This initiative is part of FitWorth, a healthy-city initiative that encourages exercise and healthy habits for local residents. One of  FitWorth’s programs is Fit15, which urges local employers to give employees 15 minutes per day for physical activity.

In addition to the walk with Mayor Price, participants can learn more about Fit15, get some free giveaways, and enter for a chance to win gift cards from West 7th merchants.

The walk will kick off on the side of Trinity Park close to West 7th St.

PhotobucketTonight, Dec. 13, the West 7th shopping district in Fort Worth will hold The Art of Dessert, a fun event scheduled for 5:30 to 8 p.m. During this time, West 7th District merchants will be serving dessert samples from district restaurants to shoppers. Stores will also play host to a variety of visual and performing artists during the event. Here’s a rundown of which goodies you can expect, and where:

On Thursday, June 28, come down to the West 7th area of Fort Worth for the grand opening event for Wag, a dog boutique, and Fort Worth Blow Dry Bar. The festivities will begin at 7 p.m. There will be live music, beer and margaritas, prize giveaways, appetizers from Chimy’s, and more. Super Frog will even make an appearance with the TCU cheerleaders.

Come out to Bar Louie tomorrow night (April 12) at 7 p.m. for the West 7th Spring Fashion Show. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. with appetizers and cocktails, and the fashion show begins at 7. The new Sweet Tomatoes opens in Fort Worth’s West 7th District on Monday, Oct. 17. However, you can get a sneak peek of the new restaurant a few days early! On Friday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct. 15, guests can come by and pay just $5 for all they care to eat from Sweet Tomatoes’ salad bar, soups, breads and handcrafted muffins. The hours for this event are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. 100 percent of the profits from these preview days will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
